Dr. Sinha, professor, and lifelong math geek talks about prime numbers; what led to their discovery, and how the study of prime numbers teaches us so many things. She also discusses the incredible importance of prime numbers in our daily life and the mesmerizing magic of mathematics by presenting real-world examples. Kaneenika Sinha is an associate professor in the department of mathematics at IISER Pune. She has done her Ph.D. from Queen’s University in Canada. Dr. Sinha also held postdoctoral positions at the University of Toronto, the University of Alberta, and the Mathematical Sciences Research Institute, Berkeley. Her primary research interests are in analytic number theory and arithmetic statistics of modular forms.
