A short video looking at the different finish available that the Lichtenberg Figure etchings leave on timber. Most of the timber I use is softwood with occasionally some hardwoods. Mostly oak and beech which seems to be the norm around here.

The softwoods seem more delicate and as the power from the microwave transformer passes through its fairly brutal and you can even see bits of burnt wood being thrown around the place.
