Welcome back to our channel! In today's video, we're diving deep into why X-Men 97 is Marvel's masterpiece and arguably the best thing Marvel Studios has produced in years—if not ever.

Previously, we explored how creator and showrunner Beau DeMayo's unique approach to the X-Men allowed the subtext of the original 90s series to become more explicit, leveraging the stronger voices of minorities and the disenfranchised that have emerged over the decades. X-Men 97 not only serves as a compelling revamp of the original series but also sets a blueprint for how the MCU should adapt the X-Men in live action.

Now that the first season has wrapped up, it's clear that X-Men 97 is FEARLESS, making BOLD and DARING choices in service of its characters above all else. The MCU should take note—we WANT creatives to play with their toys, to innovate, and to be imaginative. Beau DeMayo has done exactly that in this remarkable revival.

Even the cameos, which could have been dreadful, were more than just a brand strategy for dopamine hits. They served a narrative purpose, contextualizing the mutant conflict within the larger world of heroes, echoing the crossover spirit of the original 90s shows with Spidey, Daredevil, Fantastic Four, Captain America, and more. This is what comics are about, and adaptations need to remember it!

If more people gave animated projects the respect they deserve, X-Men 97 could achieve a following akin to massive live-action hits like Game of Thrones. It certainly has the complexities, without the prolonged travel scenes! Over the course of its first season, X-Men 97 has cemented itself not only as the definitive version of these characters but as the crown jewel of Marvel Studios.
