I am way too late to join the hype of this song, but I still want to share what I did anyway.

The song was written for the commemoration of Indonesia's 76th Independence Day Anniversary and was sung by 20 Indonesian V-Tubers under the group name 'Projekt Genesis'. The song was a success and currently have over 1 Million views on youtube.

To be honest, I wasn't aware of the existence of the song until only quite recently, and upon hearing it, I was tempted to try making a fully orchestral arrangement of the song and the day this video is uploaded is exactly 2 months since I started drafting the concept of the arrangement and the orchestration. This is one my biggest orchestration to date, the instrumentation includes triple woodwinds, 3 trumpets, 4 trombones, 2 Timpani players, 2 Harps and also Double Basses with extension or a 5th String.

As usual, I made some changes to the original song so that it can fit the instrumentation better rather than directly transcribing the whole song and putting it into orchestra as it is.

The changes that I made includes transposing the whole song a semitone lower into C Minor and Eb Minor instead of the original C# Minor and E Minor. The reason for this is playability, on the original key, the 1st Trumpet will have to play up to high C# 6 (Concert sounding B5) multiple times which will be quite taxing for the player. C Minor also allows some more comfortable double, triple, and quadruple stops on the strings because of the open C, G, and D strings. Although there is very little chance of this arrangement getting played by a real orchestra, I still want to write it as if I am writing for a real orchestra with playability in mind.

Another change that I made is extending the bridge part by a few bars, the original bridge is quite short and I thought i can extend it a little bit and insert some stuffs in it, so i inserted an ostinato in the flutes and harps to accompany it and making small variation of the main chorus theme and putting it into 1st Oboe and 1st Clarinet. The original bridge only consists of mainly long notes. I also made a transition for the modulation to Eb Minor. The original song jumps straight into new key without transition, while it worked fine in the original song, but for the arrangement that I wrote, I feel that it is too sudden and jarring, so I made 8 bars transition into the new key. Finally, I extended the ending too, instead of resolving straight to the tonic, I made a deceptive cadence to VI chord (Cb major) before finally resolving to Eb Minor.

I hope you enjoy my orchestration of this song, and let me know what do you think about it.

Also huge thanks to one of my favourite composer and orchestrator, Nikolay Rimsky-Korsakov. I did this arrangement while also doing score study of his Russian Easter Overture and the 1st movement of his 'Antar' Symphony in which i learned quite a lot about orchestration techniques. Although I wasn't able to fully implement some of the knowledge, I did try to implement some of his techniques in this arrangement, especially the way he writes for woodwinds, combining string pizzicato with rolled harp chords, etc. I even straight out copied his orchestration from the Antar Symphony in 0:41 - 0:54 .
