It’s all about Campbeltown distilleries in this new video, starting by some quick news & spoiler about some future SPRINGBANK videos I have to record and a big poll linked to it (to decide which of my 13 opened bottles not reviewed on video yet shall be reviewed first), and then I review the GLEN SCOTIA « Campbeltown Harbour », a nice budget/supermarket single malt whisky with no age statement, and, as it is not the only one that I have home, I will give you some comparison with two other no age statement expressions I’ve already reviewed but in a different kinda review form, the core range « Double Cask » & the travel retail release « Campbeltown 1832 ».

Except the « Campbeltown Harbour » (bottled 15/01/2024, 70 cl), full matured in first fill American oak Bourbon casks (aged from 5 to 6 yo), coloured and chill filtered, the « Double Cask » (bottled 05/04/2018, 70 cl) coloured but non-chill filtered (aged 5 to 6 yo) & the « Campbeltown 1832 » (bottled circa 2017, 100 cl travel retail bottle, aged from 6 to 7 yo) are both first matured in first fill American oak Bourbon casks and then finished in Pedro Ximenez Sherry casks (for the Double Cask it is a mix of first & second fill casks). As usual, you will find time stamps below & links to previous GLEN SCOTIA reviews (aside from several ones in my website archives). Thanks to Michael Henry (master blender in the Loch Lomond group) for the details (updated 11/07/24).
