This P S A study says, please forgive our Americanench. As we pronounce these French names, we're
Going to do the best we can
In our good old American English. Oh God, I hope this works. Welcome to the show. Come on in and stay a while.
Today we'll explore the Louvre museum, one of the world's largest and most famous museums, and it can be quite challenging to know where to start as you're planning your trip.
Amen. That is why we recommend a tour guide. They will help you make the most of your time. Here are some of the highlights that you shouldn't miss.
Of course, the Mona Lisa is arguably the most famous painting in the world, and it's definitely worth seeing for yourself. It is located in the Salle des États, on the first floor of the Denon wing.
That is the public service announcement. Here's the truth. The painting is small, and I mean small. You waited in the hotline for 30 minutes, and then you get up close to it and you still don't get a good shot of it.
It's worth seeing.
Yes.
The Winged Victory of Samothrace is a stunning marble sculpture of a wing woman, and it's one of the most iconic works of art in the Louvre. It is located in the Cour Carrée, in the center of the museum.
This one was easy to get to and pretty cool everywhere you need to go. Passes by the statue.
Venus De Milo is another famous sculpture, one of the most well preserved Greek sculptures in the world. It is located in the Sally de Al Pond on the first floor of the Denon Wing.
I like Ms. De Milo. More importantly, she is near a bathroom something. An old French castle has very limited amount of.
The Gallery d'Apollon is in the hall where the French jewels are kept. It is a must see
When you are in the Galerie d'Apollon, look at the ceiling. It took over 200 years just to paint the ceiling. Now, that's a job
For sure. The Coronation of Napoleon is a large painting by Jacques Louis David, and it's a stunning depiction of Napoleon's coronation as Emperor of France. It's located in the Galerie d'Apollon, on the first floor of the Denon Wing.
Just as the Mona Lisa is small, the coordination is large, very large
With so much to see. It's important to plan your visit carefully. It you're on a short time. You can focus on the most famous works of art.
But if you have more time, you can explore the different departments of the museum and discover some of the lesser known treasures like the Moat, like the moat? like the Moat. That was amazing. We were up right as we came out of the French Jewal Hall. I could smell the dirt, and then we went down through there and you ended up, and the old moat is actually dug out underneath wall. You can see the walls and everything, and you're actually walking where the water used to be. That was just mind blowing. I
Loved being able to see the Mona Lisa and the Venus de Milo, the famous stuff, but just being able to walk around on my own was also nice too. So the way our tour worked, she took us to the Moma Lisa and then let us go. So that was very enjoyable for me. We kind of got to walk around in our own pace.
Yeah, I enjoyed that. But I do think the next time I'd like a personal tour and go down a list and say, I want to see these particular things, because there were some things that we just couldn't get to. It's hard to conceive the size of this place.
Huge,
Huge. And this was a Dudes house.
Watch this playlist to see our other visits in Paris.
Thanks for watching it. We'll see you next
