Cordless shades are much safer than corded shades, but they definitely have their drawbacks! If a piece of furniture blocks access to your window, or you can't reach high enough to raise the shade all the way up, cordless shades can be very inconvenient. You need 2 hands to lift them, and even then they don't always raise neatly or easily. I opted to convert my ready-made cordless Roman shade to one with a lift cord and tension lock, and I love it! Watch this video to learn how you can do it too!

WARNING/DISCLAIMER: CORDS CAN BE A DANGER TO BABIES AND YOUNG CHILDREN. A RISK OF STRANGULATION AND DEATH CAN OCCUR FROM SHADE CORDS. ONLY USE THIS METHOD IN APPLICATIONS WHERE CHILDREN DO NOT HAVE ACCESS TO THE CORDS.
