We stayed at a hotel in the rural town of Volcano, California.
It is located east of Jackson on Route 49.
The town had a population of 115 according to a 2010 survey.
During the gold rush, thousands of people gathered and 17 hotels, a library, theater, and courthouse were built.
The town's main road is only about 200 meters long, but the town is registered as a California Historical Landmark.
I am getting older, so I guess I feel nostalgia for such an old landscape.
It seems that not many Americans have seen such a small town.
