I was given just over a foot of scrap construction pine. So I cut it in 3 and glued it up (but forgot to film that bit!). The blank measured 11cm x 5.5cm, so roughly just over 4 x 2 inches.
It had very wide grains, so I had to be very gentle with sharp tools when I turned it.
I really liked that challenge to make a usable item from scrap wood.
