Wildlife management is an important branch of conservation
It is mainly concerned with the protection, preservation, perpetuation, and judicious control of rare species of plants and animals in their natural habitats
There are numerous definitions of wildlife management but three common ideas are common in all definitions
Three general approaches adopted towards wildlife management
1. Laws restricting the numbers killed
2. Artificial stocking
3. The protection and improvement of habitats
The last one is the most important. If the habitats are destroyed or drastically altered, protective laws and artificial stocking are useless.
