Sunday marked the end of the road for Japan's Brave Blossoms, who suffered a 3-26 defeat to South Africa's Springboks in the quarterfinals of the Rugby World Cup.

Despite the loss in Japan's first-ever knockout stage appearance, both local fans and those attending the tournament from overseas had plenty of praise for the host nation on and off the pitch after a thrilling night at Tokyo Stadium.
