Over on the Rask Community we put up a post asking what people thought of LICs, if they invest in them and what they think about the premiums and discounts they trade at. The response surprised us. The surprise did not come from the content of the replies but the lack of replies.

This prompted us to ask a question, are LICs relevant in a modern market? Joining us today is Geoff Driver of the grandfather of LICs AFIC, Dan McCleery from Acorn Investment Company and Amanda Lambert from comparative newcomer, Qualitas Real Estate Income Trust.

In this episode we have a round table discussion about the current landscape for the structure in a world dominated by ETFs, the quality of LIC managers, what are the red flags to look for when assessing an opportunity and we highlight a major hurdle when it comes to comparing apples with apples in the LIC space.
