Rembrandt tells about how he prepared and saved his oil paint. He then tells you how to build up the first layers of your portrait. And how you can make the light and the shadow already appear in this layer. Finally, he explains which paint brushes he used and how he maintained them.

ING presents: The Rembrandt Tutorials. A series of six tutorials with the voice of Rembrandt himself, you learn how to paint a portrait in the style of Rembrandt. Together with leading language experts from The Netherlands Language Institute and Rembrandt experts from The Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, his painting technique, character and language were mapped. Subsequently, with this data and based on 60 self-portraits, Carnegie Mellon University reconstructed Rembrandt's voice.
