The human eye can discerns colors within the rainbow from 3800Å in the violet, up through about 7000Å in the crimson.

You can use Narrowband Filters to view various temperature ranges of the Sun's surface to see different features ranging from enhanced flares and prominences to the structure of the surface itself.

Unfortunately, for the majority, the cost of these Filters range from just over a thousand dollars to tens of thousands of dollars each.

Popular Filters are: Calcium II K Line, Calcium II H Line, Helium D3 Line, Hydrogen Alpha (Hα), Hydrogen Beta, or Sodium D Line.

Remember to always use Certified Eye Protection when viewing the Sun, failure to do so can result in burned Retinas and eye damage.
