At last, we launch all the sails as we set off on another downwind open water crossing in the South Pacific ocean under our big guns, the spinnaker and staysail. If you like watching sailing channels with real sailing, you've come to the right place! We've got this episode jam-packed full of real sailing.

Learn how and why we use our spinnaker aboard our performance cruising sailboat. Learn why we choose the routes we do. Watch as we adjust our autopilot settings for better downwind sailing performance. See how we fly 2 headsails at once and discuss managing mainsail trim to open the slot for better airflow over our sails.

About Us:

We are two young racing sailors who decided to leave life on land and accomplish our goals of sailing around the world and learning about and experiencing different cultures. Originally from the Great Lakes, we left Newport Rhode Island in July of 2019 after refitting our boat DIY style. We then sailed to Maine, and from there down the East Coast of the USA, around Cape Hatteras, to the Bahamas, Back to Miami, and then to the Virgin Islands.

From there, we headed south to Grenada to escape hurricane season, then back up to St. 6 we launched our first Atlantic Crossing to Horta, Azores. We made a quick trip back to the USA in July of '21 to defend our Chicago - Mackinac Race overall title, then it was back to cruising the Canaries, where we launched for our second Transatlantic voyage, sailing to Brazil in South America and on to Uruguay.

Our goal is to sail around the world via Cape Horn, and that is what we are doing. Capturing footage to share this epic adventure with you as we round the horn and venture into the canals and fjords of Patagonia, Chile and onward across the Pacific and Indian oceans before we complete our circumnavigation by crossing the equator again in the Atlantic Ocean and landing in the Caribbean.

Oh yea, and don't forget to keep an eye out for our amazing four-legged friend, Roxy, the sailing dog. Not only is our spinnaker a downwind weapon on board our ship, but Roxy the Dog is the ultimate defender as she protects our boat from aerial bird attacks (you know, bird poop!).
