Of late there have been reports that a man was killed by a lion passing through this stretch. And the same lion has been sighted severally by the road side. Could this be the return of the famous man eating lions? That we will discover later.

Anyway myself and 2 other riders on our end of year road trip to the South Coast opted to use Samburu - Kinango - Kwale Route to avoid the Mombasa traffic and ferry crossing.

Samburu to Kinango is perfect empty tarmac with few bumbs here and there.

The craziest part is the 24 km stretch from Kinango to Kwale which is forms one hell of a crazy off road terrain and one that passes through the Shimba Hills. Just a day after we completed this ride reports go out there that a man on a motorcycle had been killed by a lion.

This apart I think its a nice terrain for all off road enthusiasts. Give it a trial.
