Pictures of the war in Ukraine are going around the world. But how do war reporters actually work on and behind the front lines? We from CRISIS were on the road for two weeks in the east of the country in early 2023 - never far from the front lines, where Ukrainian troops are trying to hold out against the Russian attackers. In this video, we show you how to get to the front lines in the first place, the problems Ukrainian soldiers have with German weapons, and how a missile strike a few miles from our hotel gave us a sleepless night. And we'll show you why three minutes may have meant the difference between life and death for us.
