A medley of the music for the opening ceremony of the 1972 Munich Olympics, "Einmarsch der Nationen / Entry of the Nations," made famous by the Kurt Edelhagen Orchestra and performed here by the WDR Funkhaus Orchestra under the baton of Klaus Wilhelm.

The hour-and-a-half-long music for the opening ceremony of the "cheerful games" of Munich 1972 - which were later overshadowed by tragedy - was played by the Kurt Edelhagen Orchestra in August 1972 and picked up popular folk melodies of the participating countries in swing style. The accompanying LP became a sales hit.

The arrangements were initially credited to bandleader Edelhagen, but it later turned out that his musicians Dieter Reith, Jerry van Rooyen and Peter Herbolzheimer had composed and arranged "Einzug der Nationen." Their work is here turned into a shorter medley and arranged for orchestra by Ingo Luis. Recorded live in May 2022 at the WDR Funkhaus Wallrafplatz.
