The actual and original Bono did do a duet with a recording of Frank Sinatra's "I Got You Under My Skin" ages ago. They were friends. As tribute artists in this video, it's a nice listen and a bit unique. But as impersonators, it's a different story.

So, here's the Bono impersonator and Frank Sinatra tribute artist doing a bit of the popular "Witchcraft" tune Frank make popular in his time.

I love to engage and share in stories that are poetic, uplifting, embracing and otherwise maybe, kinda possibly and hopefully, wishfully cool.
Did a Bono gig tonight in San Diego after hurrying back from LA singing a tune for a dear friend of mine who died from Pancreatic cancer. Warm lady who was also a fire ball of energy if you got on her wrong side, but she loved deeply while being deeply flawed. Like the rest of us. Got to see her for the last time and a couple of her sons I haven't seen in decades. Weddings and funerals brought people together as we find ways to celebrate life and death together.
Where's this going? There was Cher, Frank Sinatra and Bono doing a meet and greet for a group of people assembling for an opening of a new theatrical play. We were there to take photos with people. Some people thought I was Bono. I had to remind them no....Bono is not going to be in San Diego with a Cher and Frank Sinatra impersonator....all by himself. It happens. A lot.
So, the cool stuff, okay, and people want photos with us. Frank Sinatra had a microphone and would belt out snippets of some famous tunes. I knew them. I love me some Sinatra thanks for Clyde Boyer a coworker at a university I was assistant to of the the program director of my department more than 30 years ago. Clyde loaned me his double cassette of Frank Sinatra during the Capitol Records years. Great recordings I copied and played over and over again. Sadly my box of cassette tapes were stolen from my truck one night in my rough neighborhood that also included cassettes of gospel music I had from the Romanian and the Serbian Nazarene churches I attended. They're gone forever.
But, I found some more Frank Sinatra music in CDs and just loved them. Learned a bunch of tunes and even sang them while I was rowing a Gondola in San Diego's Coronado Bay years ago. Yeah, what a gig I had for 2 years. Still have some VHS video tapes when I was on the news a bunch of times. I look back at my life and often think "what an odd ball" I was. But it was quite the journey none the less.
So Frank Sinatra and belted out some tunes I got to momentarily chime in on. We bonded with music and a new friendship was seeded.... with him and his Mrs.
What does all this mean? You get moments every day. Some of them unfavorable, but many more so depending on your attitude and what you choose to engage with.
I chatted with a lot of people. Wish them to belt out tunes. The world's a better place when the song in your heart is coming out of your mouth...even without Bono, Cher or Frank Sinatra near by.
