In 2014, director Jeremy Saulnier's 'Blue Ruin' was lauded at festivals worldwide cementing his name within the independent movie scene as a breakout talent. His follow-up feature 'Green Room', opening in theaters April 15, is a viscerally intense siege thriller that pits a punk band against a violent gang of neo-nazis.
We sat down with Saulnier to discuss the film, making childhood backyard action movies, singing in hardcore bands and working with Patrick Stewart who plays Green Room's nazi/drug lord kingpin.
