Today, Tim reviews two integrated bracelet sports watches with colorful dials - at two drastically different price points. For the first time, the Salmon-dialed Oris ProPilot X is facing off against the Olive Green Patek Philippe Nautilus.
First introduced in 1976, the Patek Philippe Nautilus has firmly established itself as an icon with few peers. The Olive Green Nautilus, released in 2021 and produced for under a year, is the most recent production model to carry that legacy. A true celebration, the Olive Green Nautilus 5711/1A-014 served as the swan song for the legendary reference, and as a way for Patek Philippe to mark the end of the long production run of the 5711 Nautilus. This increasingly iconic stainless steel sports model serves as a fitting look back at the history of Patek Philippe in the latter portion of the 20th century.
On the other hand, the Oris ProPilot X was released in 2022 as one of the first watches to represent a new direction for Oris. Made in titanium with a vibrant salmon dial, the Oris ProPilot X Cal. 400 took the thoroughly modern case architecture of the Big Crown Pro Pilot X and combined it with the Cal. 400 movement first released at the end of 2020. This hyper modern interpretation of an integrated bracelet metal sports watch offers us a glimpse at the exciting future of Oris in the 21st century.
