Lisa bravely shared how she would shy away from opportunities to speak in front of people, including answering questions in class. The SPARK sessions on confidence, interpersonal communication and public speaking helped build up her courage towards volunteering to come forward – from asking questions in class, to standing on stage and giving a speech in front of an audience.

Lisanny is a student at Umthlong Nongthliew Government Secondary School, Eastern West Khasi Hills District. SPARK is moving across districts to deliver training interventions that build confidence, self-worth and communication skills in young people previously unreached by such programmes.

SPARK is an initiative of the Government of Meghalaya, through Samagra Shiksha, Department of Education, designed to improve Articulation, nurture Resilience and encourage the practice of Kindness.
