Today I finally tackle the leaking water hydrant in the yard that has had water bubbling up to the surface for quite some time. I used the Caterpillar 305 mini excavator to start the dig process then switched over to a shovel once I thought I was getting close. I ended up replacing the whole hydrant as it was leaking from the weep holes at the bottom of the old hydrant. We got the new hydrant installed, backfilled with more clean 57 stone, and finished it off by backfilling with the dirt that was dug out of there.
