Hello, This is Ralph at Hoppelocks. This short video with show you what it takes to get a Hoppe multipoint lock deadbolt to retract, so you can open your door. This is assuming that the dead bolt is stuck and cannot be unlock from the interior with the thumbturn knob.

1. Remove the handle set and profile cylinder completely. Once you have removed the handles, back plates and key hole shaped profile cylinder, proceed to step #2.

2. Use a 90 degree shaped tool to insert into the dead bolt hole and into the lock body. I am using in this video, a 5/16" allen wrench. this seems to work fine and does not get hung up inside of the gear box body.

3. When inserting your chosen release tool, angle the tip upwards in a 45 degree direction pointing somewhere in the area between the latch and deadbolt.

4. Push the tool upwards in the 45 degree motion. You should feel the tension of the spring loaded release bar. Push this black plastic bar up and keep pressure on it and then turn the allen wrench away from the multi-point lock face. You should feel the dead bolt retract into the multipoint lock.

5. Once the deadbolt has been retracted, push down on the lever handle and open the door. If the dead bolt does not completely retract, you may have the take a putty knife and insert between the door panel and frame to slowly move the deadbolt inward. Once the deadbolt is completely retracted, the door should be able to be opened.
