The last session, we caught up with Rashad who discussed the moment he decided to ascend the police car during the race riots that erupted downtown Chicago in the wake of the George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and Ahmaud Arbery murders.

In lectures, I describe this moment as the quintessential example of how Chicago Footwork is what I call “an embodied language of resistance.” Here Rashad uses it to speak out against state violence.
