Located at a distance of 28 kms from Darjeeling, the pristine hill station of Takdah is a less visited tourist spot. If someone wants to avoid visiting congested hill stations like Darjeeling but still likes to enjoy the beautiful view of the mountains and tea garnes, then Takdah is a perfect choice. In Lepcha, the meaning of the word Takdah is "covered in mist" and the place stands up to its name.

Here’s our experience of the trip to this quaint hill station amidst the current pandemic situation. We took a train from Sealdah (Kolkata) to NJP Railway station (Siliguri) and from there we hired a bike for the rest of the trip. Enjoy and relive the experience through our eyes as we cross picturusque landscapes, scenic views and mind-blowing tea gardens.
