The Alpine Lakes High Route is a 25 mile loop located in the Alpine Lakes Wilderness. Seeing as it's a "high route", most of the route is technically off trail traversing the hiker through loads of talus and cliffs. We ambitiously planned our own high route in addition to the ALHR.........I wouldn't recommend..
