Ingredients

1/2 cup dark brown sugar
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/3 cup salted butter, softened
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1 egg
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Directions:

In a sauce pan on medium heat, bring butter to a boil and cook down until it starts to become a more golden colour. Remove from heat, and let come to room temperature.

If you’re short on time, add the cooked butter to a bowl and place in freezer for 20mins max.

In a large bowl bowl, mix together brown sugar, granulated sugar and butter.

Add egg and vanilla extract.

Mix until mixture is smooth and creamy.

In a small bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder and salt.

Mix dry ingredients into the creamed mixture.

Stir in chocolate chips.

Scoop dough or roll into balls with your hands and place them in the freezer for 1 hour.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Place 6 dough balls 2 inches apart on parchment lined baking sheet and bake for 15 minutes.

Take cookies out of the oven and let sit for a few minutes. Transfer cookies to a cooling rack.
