honestly so much more than i was expecting... part thriller part romance (the classic melodramatic love triangle which im ALWAYS a sucker for when it comes to older movies) part court drama and theres even a really good montage sequence here that looks like it couldve been directed by vertov. oh and claude rains is amazing as always and elevates this to an even higher level.. his eyes and his voice alone are enough to give this 4 stars minimum
