For any DIYer and hobbyist woodworker who wants modern, thin floating shelves instead of chunky boards all over the house, this video walks through the steps of not only making the shelves, but also the brackets I chose for mounting a shelf that is only 3/4 inches thick--the standard size of a lot of lumber from hobbyist locations.

The bracket itself is from Amazon (link below & not sponsored) and I would give it an 8/10 for effectiveness. It works to conceal any unsightly mounting bracket, but the mounting supports that come with it are kind of trash. They do work, but only after a little trial and error. I skipped the mounting segment in this video because it's really that easy to drill in some mounts, but I do show you how to drill the mounting holes using a 15 inch 1/2 bit, which can be tricky.
