You can make a ceiling from plastic panels with your own hands. This ceiling looks best in small rooms - in the bathroom, toilet, corridor, kitchen. It is easy to repair if damaged. It will not be damaged by moisture if the neighbor's pipeline leaks from above. The procedure for installing a plastic ceiling is as follows:
1. Make a sheathing on the ceiling from a metal profile or wooden slats.
- Mark the position of the profile on the walls using a level (preferably a water or laser level). The minimum distance between the bottom point of the ceiling and the marking line is the profile width (27 mm). The distance can be increased if it is necessary to install lighting above the suspended ceiling, lay air ducts, etc.;
- Using dowel nails at 500 mm intervals, secure the PNP profiles;
- Mark the position of the sheathing elements on the ceiling;
- Fix the dowel on the ceiling with nails using the EC profile;
- Fix the CD profile on the EC profiles using flea screws;
2. Fix the starting plastic profile along the entire perimeter of the ceiling using flea screws;
3. We cut the plastic panels with a hacksaw or electric jigsaw and all cavities are filled with PVC panels. Previously, at this stage of installation, all planned electrical communications should be installed, as well as holes drilled for the lighting systems.
- Along the entire side, the first panel is attached to the profile using screws; as for the rest, they are connected to the previous ones one after another and are attached in the same way using screws. The ends of the panels are inserted into the starting plastic profile, starting from the wall surfaces.
- As the final stage of the installation process, the finishing panel is secured. As a rule, many experts consider this step to be the most difficult, since it is very difficult to connect the panels to the wall without creating a gap. In order to connect the two final parts as evenly as possible, the last panel should be trimmed lengthwise and made as close as possible to the required distance.
- The fitted panel is inserted into the profile, and the main installation process can be considered complete.
