This is James Newton Howard's first ever work for Symphony Orchestra. Composed in 2008, and performed only once, in 2009, this is not for any film, tv show, video game or anything else. It is simply composed for Orchestra. No recording of this exists, so this is a re-created computerized orchestral version. It begins with the planting of the seed of the tree, then as it starts to grow, the music builds as if it is Spring, then it becomes fully realised, as Summer appears. Then the music starts to wither away to Autumn, until finally it becomes a battle for survival as the music of Winter comes, turning into horror. Then as the piece ends, the tree dies, and the music drifts off into nature, ready to re-grow.
