I think that solar eclipses are fascinating, but they have nearly always been too far away for me to attend. For April 8, 2024, I went to Indianapolis, Indiana to see the solar eclipse from there. I camped at a fairgrounds south of Indianapolis, right on the center of the line of totality. I had a great time with my family watching the eclipse and recording the events on video and with photos. I will show some of that here.

While the weather forecast was not promising early in the week, we had rain the night before and then clearing in the morning. By afternoon, there were high cirrus clouds moving in from the southwest, but they really didn't hurt the viewing. The clouds may have reduced the sharpness of some of my photos, but all in all, no big deal. We were blessed to have a great view of the eclipse.
