Takbirut Tashreeq of Dhu'l-Hijjah / Eid Al-Adha

#Takbīr #AllahuAkbar #Dhu'l-Hijjah #Eid Al-Adha

Takbirut Tashreeq (تكبير التشريق) is a prayer recited by pilgrims after every Fardh Salah during Hajj, and by every Muslim in ten days of Dhul Hijjah after every Fardh Salah.

Starting immediately after Fajr Salah on the 9th of Dhul Hijjah, it is Wajib for Hajj pilgrims to audibly recite Takbirut Tashreeq at least once after every Fardh Salah, up to and including Asr Salah on the 13th of Dhul Hijjah (a total of 23 Fardh Salahs). As per Imam Shafi till 3rd day of Eid Al-Adha.

Hazrat Ibrahim علیہ السلام ordered by Allah to sacrifice his son Isma'il علیہ السلام. When Hazrat Ibrahim علیہ السلامbegan moving the knife on Isma'ilعلیہ السلام, the angels were sent with a ram (kabsh?) from Jannah.

The angels exclaimed: Allahu Akbar Allahu Akbar (Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest).

Hazrat Ibrahim علیہ السلام heard the voice of the angels and said: "La Ilaha Illallahu Wallahu Akbar" (There is none worthy of worship besides Allah and Allah is the Greatest).

Hazrat Isma'il علیہ السلام heard this conversation and realized that Allah had relieved him from this great trial and so he said: "Allahu Akbar Wa Lillahil Hamd" (Allah is the Greatest and to Allah belongs all praise).

So Takbirut Tashreeq is the recitation of the following:
اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ لَا إلَهَ إلَّا اللَّهُ وَاَللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ
وَلِلَّهِ الْحَمْد

Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar,
La Ilaha Ilallahu Wallahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, Wa Lillahil Hamd.

Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest. There is no deity besides Allah and Allah is the Greatest. Allah is the Greatest and all praises are for Allah only.

Takbirut Tashreeq is Wajib for both men and women. However men will recite it audibly whilst women will recite it softly.

Talbiyah is recited after Takbirut Tashreeq.
