The secret of right action, however, is not cold objectivity (which can make use selfish and uncaring), but a loving heart. Only the natural love of the heart can feel the underlying unity of all creation, and this calm perception of Truth can guide us towards right action. As Sri Yukteswar said in his book The Holy Science, “The first and most essential thing on the spiritual path is to uncover the natural love of the heart; without that one cannot take one step on the spiritual path.”
