Here we take a ride on one of CTtransit’s brand new electric buses, #2427, which is a 2024 New Flyer Xcelsior CHARGE NG (XE40) on the 59 Locust Avenue. This bus is powered by a Siemens ELFA3 motor.

This is the 27th bus out of the order of 44 electric buses, distributed semi-evenly throughout the 4 depots (Hartford, New Haven, Stamford, and Waterbury). At the moment, not all of the XE40s have entered service, one of the reasons being is that they have no fareboxes.

What’s different about these buses from the usual specifications is the USB charging ports, vinyl padded seats, new display screens, flushed windows, different floor texture, the electric bus wrap, the bike rack, and the Hanover destination.

I would’ve gotten more footage of the interior but I didn’t want to disturb the peace of people by having a camera pointed directly at their faces.

(also please excuse my horrible camera work at the beginning and end of the video lol)
