Stella, a copywriter in New York, is thrown off balance when her estranged mother passes away, leaving her a one-way plane ticket to Paris and a note that simply says, "Go to Paris." Stella isn’t the adventurous type; a childhood trauma has kept her clinging to the safety of her routines. But when her boss suggests she take some time off, Stella decides to honor her mother’s final wish.

In Paris, Stella initially sticks to her old habits, living cautiously and on a budget. But everything changes when she stumbles upon a vintage store and tries on a stunning Dior dress. The shopkeeper insists the dress is meant for her, and for the first time, Stella acts on impulse and buys it. This decision sets her on a journey that leads her to an old art collector who has his own ideas about how she should experience Paris. He introduces her to Parisian cuisine, wine, and museums. During one of these visits, she is fascinated by a female painter whose work was overlooked because of her gender. Determined to uncover this lost piece of history, Stella embarks on a mission that leads her to a surprising discovery—someone who might be her father.

If you enjoy stories set in Paris or novels about self-discovery, this book is a great pick! With interesting characters and a satisfying ending, I found myself enjoying it more than I expected as I turned the last page.
