Welcome to our DIY tutorial on making a squirrel-proof birdfeeder post! In this video, we will guide you through the process of creating a sturdy and effective birdfeeder post using a galvanized bucket and a 4 x 4 wooden post wrapped in metal flashing. By following these steps, you'll be able to enjoy watching birds feed without any pesky squirrels stealing their food.

First, gather all the materials you'll need for this project. You'll require a galvanized bucket, a 4 x 4 wooden post, metal flashing, cement, and basic tools like a drill, screws, and a level. Make sure to choose a galvanized bucket that is large enough to hold birdfeeder post and withstand outdoor conditions.

Next, take the metal flashing and wrap it around the wooden post, starting from the bottom and working your way up. Secure the flashing in place using 7/8” roofing nails, ensuring it is tightly wrapped around the post. This metal flashing will act as a barrier, preventing squirrels from climbing up the post. Then stand the post up in the bucket and pour the cement in around the post and level it. Once the cement is hardened, you can drill holes just at the edge of the cement in the bucket walls so that later you can put topsoil in and plant some flowers to decorate. Mount the birdfeeder to the top of the post and use a dolly to help assist moving the birdfeeder around your yard.

Remember to regularly refill the birdfeeder and clean it to maintain a healthy feeding environment for the birds. Enjoy the beauty of nature as you attract various bird species to your squirrel-proof birdfeeder post!

We hope this tutorial has been helpful, and we look forward to seeing your successful birdfeeder post. Happy birdwatching!
