This week we're visiting the Glen Echo Park Aquarium to check out a truly unique setup—an Oyster Reef tank. This tank simulates what the Chesapeake Bay would have looked like prior to the industrial revolution. Today less than 2% of the oyster population remains, but historically oysters have been a critical part of the estuary habitat.

We'll see the feeding habits of the oyster and some of the inhabitants of an oyster reef. We'll get an up-close look at mummichogs, sheepsheads, and spider crabs to list a few.
