Golden milk is another name for turmeric milk, a daily dose of which builds fantastic immunity, to leave you feeling fabulous through the holidays and all winter. In a hot pan, we warm two cups of almond milk (good to serve 2 people), adding some cut pieces of turmeric root (optional). We next pound 6 pieces of clove, good for antibacterial protection, and add them to pan, along with a 1/2 tsp of cinnamon, a tsp of shredded ginger, 3 big pinches of black pepper and a level tbsp. of turmeric powder (an extra quarter tbsp. if we did not use turmeric root pieces in the beginning). Allow everything to mix in, bringing to a nice slow simmer. Take off stove, strain through sieve if you prefer, and pour into glass, adding a 1/2 tsp of local honey to counter any local allergens. This great tasting turmeric milk is your best natural defense to stay completely clear of flu, cough and cold, so you can cast yourself with gay abandon into all the wonderful celebrations of the season.
