The largest carved Bethlehem in Europe, made of wood, is in Rajecka Lesna.

It is a masterpiece of Master Jozef Pekara, a native of Rajecke Teplice. He spent 15 years working on it and, during this time, he gave the wood the spirit of Slovakia by materialising its history, architecture and traditions.

In Bethlehem, in an area with a length of 8.5 metres and width of 3 metres, there are hundreds of figures symbolising life, culture, crafts and the way of life of the Slovak nation. At the same time, all the figures are moving, working and having fun.

This life's work from lime wood attracts the attention of visitors throughout the year.

El más grande Belén tallado en Europa, hecho de madera de tilo, se encuentra en Rajecká Lesná.

Es una obra maestra del maestro Jozef Pekara, originario de Rajecké Teplice. Él pasó 15 años trabajando en ello y, durante este tiempo, logró darle a la madera el espíritu de Eslovaquia materializando su historia, arquitectura y tradiciones.

En este Belén, con una longitud de 8,5 metros y el ancho de 3 metros, hay cientos de figuras que simbolizan la vida, la cultura, la artesanía y el estilo de vida de la nación eslovaca. Al mismo tiempo, todas las figuras están en movimiento, trabajando y divirtiéndose.

Najväčší vyrezávaný betlehem v Európe, zhotovený z dreva, sa nachádza v Rajeckej Lesnej.

Je dielom majstra Jozefa Pekaru, rodáka z Rajeckých Teplíc. Pracoval na ňom 15 rokov a za ten čas sa mu podarilo vdýchnuť drevu dušu Slovenska zhmotnením jeho histórie, architektúry a tradície.

V Betleheme na ploche dlhej 8,5 metra a širokej 3 metre sú umiestnené stovky postavičiek, ktoré symbolizujú život, kultúru, remeslá a spôsob života slovenského národa.Všetky postavy sa pritom pohybujú, pracujú a aj sa zabávajú.

Toto celoživotné dielo z lipového dreva púta pozornosť návštevníkov po celý rok.
