THe front tire on this loaded dump truck had a catastrophic sidewall failure . The truck was loaded heading west bound when the left steer tire blew out . There was a witness to the tire failing he was traveling Eastbound and saw a massive plum of air erupt from the drivers side of the dump truck . Approximately 18 inches of the sidewall tore open . Driver had minor shoulder pain . We believe the tire exploding cause the truck to lerch to the right onto a soft shoulder and then into the Cranberry Bog .
The truck was well maintained with good brakes and legal tires .
Sometimes things just fail . The tire company is looking at the tire to see if it had a factory defect .

we pulled the truck backwards and sideways so we could clear the front right fender from the bogs . The radiator was still intact and I did not want to dump the antifreeze in the bogs .
I would like to thank my crew . We have a great crew that get along well . Makes for a fun day at work or around the office
