There’s a lot of times that you’re working on an engine and the threads are damaged or stripped, the tap works really well but what happens if you can’t find the tap. If you find the right size bolt you can grind grooves into the bolt this adds cutting surfaces and also allows a place for the chips to be stored while cleaning the threads.
