Friends, by popular request, Iā€™ve made Sourdough Pullman Bread ā€“ also known as Sandwich Bread.
I absolutely love sandwiches, but store-bought bread always feels so artificial. Reading the ingredients list just steals my appetite!
So, you can imagine the joy in my family when I pulled this beautiful loaf out of the oven. So many cravings were satisfied, and the kids finally got a big YES for their favorite sandwiches!
Honestly, I hadn't baked bread like this before because I didnā€™t have that special Pullman loaf pan. But guess what? It can easily be replaced with a regular rectangular pan covered with aluminum foil. Just put something heavy on top to keep the dough from rising too much ā€“ it works just as well - I also realized it after I bought a tray of these.šŸ¤¦šŸ¼ā€ā™€ļø
Those ā€œspecialā€ pans seem like theyā€™re made of gold with how expensive they are. But let me tell you, this bread is extraordinary, it's worth the investment.
INGREDIENTS
150 ml = 2/3 cup of cold milk
150 ml = 2/3 cup cold water
50 g = 1/4 cup activated sourdough starter
10g = 2 teaspoons of sugar
550 - 600 g = 4 1/3 to 4 3/4 cups of flour type 00
10 g = 2 teaspoons of salt
30 g = 2 tablespoons of butter
