Dancing with a donkey... Incredible sand dunes... Flying through the air on my KTM... I think the only way I can describe this riding day was... the most epic day on a motorcycle ever!

Everyone put the fear of God into me about Mauritania and how horrifically soft and brutal the sand was, which of course meant I have been terrified of these days for weeks, months even years! Dreading the day I was to face this punishing terrain.

Turns out... I loved the Mauritanian sand! They were super smooth and rolling dunes and totally windswept on top which made for some super fun “flying through the air” moments and the dunes were no bigger than a 2-story building. Needless to say, all the worry and dread was quicky taken away and I had an amazingly fun and wild day! The lesson I learnt here was; never base your expectations on other people's opinions.
