Hello My Friends,

Today’s video is from a recent weekend wander I took through part of downtown Toronto.

While my journey started off at the hub of Yonge & Dundas Square, I soon headed a little east along Dundas Street towards Bond Street. A short walk south from Dundas Street on Bond Street is where I came across MacKenzie House.

Built in 1858, Mackenzie House is the final home of William Lyon McKenzie, Toronto’s first mayor. For the history lovers out there this house might be of interest to you. Entry into the museum is free, which is good news especially during the challenging financial times of 2024.

Following a tour of Mackenzie House I walked south on Bond Street, eventually turning east along Shuter Street. Views along Shuter Street include St. Michael’s Cathedral Basilica (NE corner of Bond & Shuter Streets), a selection of historic brick row houses and The Secret Genius School (best name for a school ever!).

From Shuter Street my day’s wander continued up Seaton Street where you can find all sorts of enchanting cottage-style and Victorian historical homes.

Thank you for watching!

Jacqueline
