Escudilla Mountain is an almost 11,000 foot peak in the White Mountains of eastern Arizona, and is only a few miles west of the New Mexico border. Most of the hike is pretty simple and beautiful, but getting to the true summit requires a hike of around a half mile or more across a zone of fallen trees. The views are pretty good from the summit, which is one of the Arizona 2000 ft. prominence peaks. Had the fire not burned the summit, there would probably be a mature forest covering it, and no views.
