Single Elimination Competition System: Side-by-Side Method

The side-by-side method, first introduced at the WT official event during the Daegu World University Festival this July, has significantly increased the excitement and competitiveness of recognized Poomsae competitions. I had the privilege of serving as a Poomsae Referee at this event. Athletes compete on the mat using a random Poomsae selection system, adding a new level of unpredictability to the competition. The side-by-side method will be employed from the preliminary rounds through the semifinals, with the one-by-one method used for the final round.
