I made this art piece in 2021. After I cut the slices quite a few of the pieces were broken so rather than throw them out I just went with it and started breaking even more of them - making the broken pieces the theme of the art. Working with free wood gives me a sense of freedom, like "Hey, what do I have to lose if this doesn't turn out?" And as sometimes happens - after I made it I thought "hmmm, is this good enough to make a video of?" I wasn't sure if it was up to speed with the other art projects I was creating around the same time so I held off on making a video of it and hung it up in my office. Over the last couple of years I've been looking at it every day and over time it has really grown on me and I've come to really like it :)
