Italian DJ/producer Raffaele Calza, aka Raffa FL, has enjoyed a pretty special past while, with his knack for a tune endearing him to a slew of contemporary imprints such as petfood, Nurvous, Electronique and Akbal. His latest endeavours see him turn out for a label that maintains a similar agenda for discerning, house-focused cuts, with the burgeoning Underground Audio label a fitting medium for his sultry brand of infectious house music.

The More Than Love EP wastes no time in making an impression thanks to the sticky, humid sounds of the title track. Drenched in clever reverb and a mound of well placed white noise, it saunters with a hypnotic swagger that points it firmly in the direction of the 'floor. By the time the cascading vocals come to a halt and the melancholic snares lead us into a blissful conclusion, it's already left a serious marker on our consciousness.

Another real success story of 2013 is that of British duo Him_Self_Her. They drag the original to new terrain, as they twist it inside and out with a reworking that sheds new light on the vocal and is notable for its off-kilter charm. Wrapping up matters is the gregarious and captivating ''Since We Last Met''. A true bassline warrior, it melds old-school aesthetics with a rugged new-school charm in the sort of manner that few but Raffa FL would even dare to pull off.
